It is Wolfgang's fourth and biggest Fuzzy novel, following The Fuzzy Conundrum, Caveat Fuzzy and Fuzzy Ego Sum.

It is March 15th, 658 Atomic Era on the planet Zarathustra and things have quieted down a bit since the destruction of the Fuzzy slaver ring. Or have they? A group of people on Beta continent have been in hiding for several months with a very nasty secret.

From off-world, two groups of people have arrived to vex the local government and Fuzzy Commissioner of Native Affairs, Jack Holloway. Supervisor Kim Trahn Sylvinski and his crew from Terra have come to audit Zarathustra's shiny new government. Supervisor Sylvinski is eager to take someone's head on a platter back to Terra, and Ben Rainsford, the Colonial Governor, appears to be the main focus of this unwanted attention. Even worse, an interested third party, a Hugh Lennon from Magni Colony, comes up with information that could cause more trouble for the beleaguered Colonial Government.

The second group could be even more sinister with motives and means well outside of the norm. What they are after is a mystery that could threaten the stability of the entire Federation. Things start getting hairy when suicide bombers make the scene with a strange message before blowing themselves up.

A young Magni-Freyan woman finds herself first lost in the wilds of eastern Beta Continent, and then finds herself in even deeper trouble than just dealing with a charging damnthing or attacking harpies. In the company of people with questionable motives, she plays a waiting game until she can escape to safety.

Meanwhile, Morgan Holloway returns from Terra with a sealed chest containing something that could bring down the Charterless Zarathustra Company and, by extension, the Colonial Government as well. To assist him he hires, Jason Roberts, private investigator and his assistant, Fuzzy Mike Hammer. They compare notes only to find themselves in potentially mortal danger.

At the end of Caveat Fuzzy, it appeared that things had settled down on Zarathustra since the slavers' reign of terror at the Fuzzy Reservation was brought to a halt. But it is only the calm before the storm. Suddenly, Fuzzies are disappearing from the Reservation, while people are spacing in from all over the Terran Federation to the colony planet of Zarathustra. The question is why? Hundreds of spaceships, from luxurious yachts to rusty freighters, are orbiting Mallorysport and flooding the spaceport with visitors. And they only want one thing: their very own Fuzzy! Fuzzies are the cutest, cuddliest and most intelligent pet in all of known space. Now, on top of that, owning one has become the ultimate status symbol. Jack Holloway is at his wits' end. Even if he wanted to, there's no way he, or anyone else, could allow this swarm of tourists to each have their very own Fuzzy. There just aren't enough of the little critters to go around; plus, the free Fuzzies living on north Beta continent don't want a thing to do with the Big Bad Ones. However, there are a number of low-life characters who are attempting to abduct as many Fuzzies as they can for transport to Terra. Moreover, there is a new danger to Fuzzies that travel off-world: Jack and company had better figure it out before they unwittingly drive the Fuzzies to extinction!

FUZZY ERGO SUM by Wolfgang Diehr is the first new Fuzzy sequel in almost 30 years. This revised 2nd Edition continues H. Beam Piper's most well-known and beloved series, featuring the characters readers have come to know and love, Jack Holloway, Little Fuzzy, Victor Grego, et al., who all return in this new and exciting continuation of Piper's original novel, Little Fuzzy. Things have been quiet on Zarathustra-maybe too quiet-for the Colonial Government, Jack Holloway, the Fuzzies and the Charterless Zarathustra Company for the last couple of years. Baby Fuzzy made his first kill, the sunstone agreement with the CZC has kept the planetary government in the black and the Fuzzies and humans peacefully co-exist in a nearly symbiotic relationship. All is well until several men arrive on Zarathustra with an agenda that will spell trouble for humans and Fuzzies alike. Unless one considers the potential ramifications of the alien rocket ship discovered on the secondary landmass of Beta Continent. The new owners of Bowlby Inter-planetary Network (BIN) attack Ben Rainsford's governorship and the Yellowsand mining treaty with the Charterless Zarathustra Company using the recently discovered rocket and what appear to be the fossils of giant Fuzzies. If Rainsford's government is legally challenged, what will happen to the Fuzzies? Equally disturbing is the unrest evident among the Northern Beta Fuzzies. Things are brought to a head when a member of the colonial government is taken hostage by Fuzzie-tempers flare and only Jack Holloway may be able to stop hostilities before they grow into a full-out war. The Hos-Blethan Affair is the 4th volume in the Kalvan Saga, taking place after Kalvan Kingmaker and just before, as well as at the same time, as Siege of Tarr-Hostigos by John F. Carr After their military losses in Hos-Harphax, Styphon's House uses their influence to gather the greatest army in the history of the Five Great Kingdoms. It's time to put an end to the Usurper Kalvan's rule in Hos-Hostigos. The Grand Host of Styphon will be led by Captain-General Phidestros and Grand Master Soton of the Zarthani Knights. This time Styphon's House means business! Upon learning of this new threat, Great King Kalvan dispatches his Chief of Intelligence and Colonel Democriphon with a team of trusted lieutenants to try and subvert the Kingdom of Hos-Bletha; thereby forcing Great King Niclophon to keep his troops at home. As the Grand Host of Styphon's House gathers in Harphax Town to assemble their great army, it is up to Duke Skranga to see that the Blethans stay in Hos-Bletha. When Skranga and his band arrive in Hos-Bletha, they begin a guerilla action to take Niclophon out of the war. Basing their tactics on Kalvan's tales about Robin Hood and some improvised madness of their own, skuch as the incarnation of Galzar, the band of Hostigi brothers creates havoc throughout the Kingdom as they target Styphon's House temples and rich merchants.
