Frank Herbert was an American science fiction author best known for his highly influential futuristic novel, “Dune.” Born on October 8, 1920, in Tacoma, Washington, Herbert, with his intricate and detailed depictions of science, politics, and religion, left an indelible mark on the science fiction genre.
