About Tomie dePaola

Tomie dePaola was a prominent American author and illustrator celebrated for his contribution to children’s literature. Born on September 15, 1934 in Meriden, Connecticut, dePaola nurtured an early passion for arts which later earned him a degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
