About James Haniford Books

James Haniford's fascination with the gangsters and outlaws of yesteryear began with stories told him by his grandparents and other longtime local citizens. His research for this book began in 2010, a fascinating adventure that led him from the shores of Cedar Lake all the way to the banks of the Illinois River at Beardstown. James works in conservation and writes in his spare time. He's penned numerous articles, and a few of his poems have been included in local anthologies. This is his first published book. James still lives in Northwest Indiana.
