Kisak was classically trained (on the drum kit) by percussionist Wayne Pascuzzi of The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and subsequently trained (hand percussion) by Traci Seffers, Jona Masiya, Marimbarista and Jim Donovan of the Band Rusted Root, over a period of 48 years. He continues to play with the Shenandoah Rythym Jam of Northern Virginia.
