I became a student of Buddhism the first time I met the teacher, Reverend Gyoko Saito. It was because he knew me better than I knew myself. So I joined his discussion group along with others to learn about the Buddha-Dharma. His class was so interesting that I stayed with it for 18 years. Its been now 50 years when I first met him in 1963, and he is still reprimanding me by teaching me how to be a real human being. I learned from him so many things about being human, how to follow the Dharma, and how to live my own life independently. I bow to his essence for all of his efforts in bringing the true Buddhism to this country which involved so many people. But most of all for the fact that I met such a good friend and living person of exceptional humanity. So when I look over my life from the very beginning I see that it all led up to this very important encounter with a person who guided me and helped me to find out who I really am, that answered the question of "Who am I?".
