About Susan Tate Ankeny Books
Susan Tate Ankeny left a career in teaching to research and write about her father's escape from Nazi-occupied France, resulting in the publication of The Girl and the Bombardier A True Story of Resistance and Rescue in Nazi-Occupied France. She is also the author of American Flygirl, the first and only full-length biography of war hero Hazel Ying Lee. Ankeny is a member of the Oregon Chapter of the 8th Air Force Historical Society and the Association des Sauveteurs d'Aviateurs Alliés, which finds and memorializes World War II crash sites in France. The great-granddaughter of Oregon pioneers, she lives in the Pacific Northwest and can be found online at SusanTateAnkeny.com.
