Book Overview

2025, the sequel to The Last Best Resort, offers a world in which our carbon footprint has been laid low by economic collapse. A sustainable society is crafted on Sanibel Island as an intentional community with themes of self-reliance and self-sufficiency, and personal responsibility balanced with social responsibility. Follow the developing stories of love and of revenge as the hurricane season, serial murders, and the struggles to survive all interplay. Visionary Fiction is the literary form that illustrates and demonstrates the process of growth in human and societal consciousness. Visionary writing has the qualities of prophecy -- it can be apocalyptic in imagery, or it may be predictive in its insights, or it may contain a core of moral truth. 2025 contains all three features. It is a society's journey toward self-actualization.
