A Memoir of Jane Austen (illustrated and annotated): A 200th anniversary edition - Paperback

by J. E. Austen Leigh (Author), George Cavendish (Annotations by)

In 2025 BBC TV released "Miss Austen" starring Keeley Hawes as Cassandra Austen, Jane's elder sister. The author said that "Their sisterly affection for each other could

scarcely be exceeded."

James Edward Austen Leigh's short biography of "dear aunt Jane" may not be a critical insight into the famous novelist's life or her work but is nevertheless written by a relative who knew her and draws on sources only available to Jane's wider family.

The book also includes a cancelled chapter of Persuasion and a fragment of Jane's last work.
