An Occupied Grave: A Completely Addictive Cozy Murder Mystery - Paperback

A classic English village whodunnit that opens with a funeral and a grave already holding the wrong body. A character-driven detective partnership, old grudges, and a proper puzzle plot in the cosy crime tradition.

A Funeral. A Stranger In The Grave. A Village With Everything To Hide.

A scream cuts through a village funeral when mourners discover a stranger already lying in the freshly dug grave, pulling Detective Inspector Sam Brock and newly promoted Detective Sergeant Guy Poole into their first case together in Bexford.

Poole, hoping his new post will help him outrun a painful past, soon finds himself navigating a community heavy with old grudges and resentments. Paired with the formidable Brock, who's juggling troubles of his own, he needs to find his footing fast as the investigation reveals wounds the village has never recovered from.

When a second violent death shatters the cosy façade, Brock and Poole realise the past hasn't been laid to rest at all. Someone is willing to kill again to keep it that way.

An Occupied Grave is the first book in the Brock and Poole Mysteries, a cosy murder mystery for readers who love detective duos, English village crime, and classic whodunnits. Perfect for fans of M.C. Beaton, Ann Cleeves, and Elly Griffiths.

Praise for the Brock & Poole Mystery Series:

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This completely readable and fast-paced murder mystery blends Agatha Christie with Alfred Hitchcock.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great whodunit. I thought I had the villain pegged but was totally wrong.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kept me guessing... exactly the kind of storytelling we need more of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brock and Poole are great characters... written with flaws and all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very human partnership... they don't have all the answers and are not cardboard cutouts.
