On June 13, 2008, Rachel at the age of 67, came down with a rare autoimmune disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome that affects the nervous system and if not diagnosed early, usually results in totally paralyzing its victims. This usually occurs very unexpectedly and disrupts a person's life without warning. She encountered various experiences in the two hospitals and convalescent home she was placed in.
