Book Overview

by Lucy Maud Montgomery (Author)

This official, unabridged edition of Anne of Windy Poplars, a timeless classic for readers of all ages, offers the inimitable Anne Shirley and unique memories, exclusively from L.M. Montgomery's granddaughter. Whenever she travels, Anne Shirley tends to spark a debate. She is no different in her new role as Summerside High School's principal. The Pringles, the town's governing family, want one of their own to fill the position, so they've made it their goal to oust Annie. Anne discovers she has more allies than she realises when she settles into her tower chamber at Windy Poplars with the widows Aunt Kate and Aunt Chatty. And letters from her dear Gilbert Blythe remind her that anything is possible for her to overcome with a little bit of imagination. Through Anne's eyes, the commonplace transforms into the extraordinary, and each day is an adventure. It should come as no surprise that everyone, from Mark Twain to Duchess Kate, loves her.
