Asynchronous Ferox: (and other stories about subjectivity) - Paperback

"We find more sense in distortion than in verisimilitude..." In the world of Alec Hutchinson's Asynchronous Ferox, bears chase the rich, children throw faecal matter at passing cars, and a remote control fog drifts across the suburbs trying to make the people puke. If you get the joke in Kafka or like the short fiction of Murakami, then there's plenty to enjoy in these twenty-three stories. While the settings move in and out of a surreal New Zealand, the subject-matter swings from seal clubbing to kittens-from cannibalism to optimism-and will be a visceral comfort to anyone who has ever felt stuck in the machinery of modern life. This second edition release features a new cover and typeface.Stories in this collection have previously appeared in Neon Literary Magazine, Hypertrophic Press and Loud Zoo.
