Cari D. Elmore was born in Bagley, Minnesota, and now resides in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was inspired to write this book by "my daughter-in-law's mother, who owned chickens. My favorite was an exotic, fluffy feather-head called Bubble Head."
