Christmas in the Air - Paperback

by Josie Riviera (Author)

She told a stranger on a plane her deepest secrets. She never expected to see him again.

Penelope Reid has learned to keep her guard up. Divorced, raising a strong-willed twelve-year-old son, and pouring every ounce of herself into her toy business, she doesn't have the luxury of falling apart. But on a flight to Hilton Head Island, she finds herself talking to a quiet, attentive stranger, confessing her fears, her failures, and the dreams she has nearly given up on. He seems only half-listening. She will never see him again. It doesn't matter.

Two months later, Jacob Williams walks into her life as the town's new pediatrician, and Penelope realizes with a jolt that she has already told this man more than she has ever told anyone.

Jacob knows about her difficult divorce. Her doubts. Her son. And the version of herself she is still trying to become. What he hasn't told her is why he left a lucrative career to come to a small town or how much the woman on that plane has stayed with him ever since.

As their connection deepens, Penelope faces resistance from every direction - a skeptical son who wants a puppy for Christmas more than he wants a new man in his mother's life and a small, watchful community that believes it already knows who she is. Jacob is patient. Steady. And more determined than she expected.

But is Penelope ready to trust the man who already knows her worst and wants her anyway?
