I obsessed over it all through the rest of high school, then college. For some reason, this book has always made me feel like it was the answer to my happily-ever-after. And when I translate the Verus Amor spell and discover it really is a true love spell, I decide to give it a try.

Instead of a Goblin King, though, I accidentally summon a fearsome horned man into my home. With shocking white skin and glowing blue eyes, he crooks his claw imperiously, expecting me to follow him. And when I don't? He leaves before returning with a shadowy creature-and a pair of gold chains for me.

Next thing I know, I'm pulled to another world and thrown in a dungeon cell, Duke Haures's human prisoner. At least, that's what I think I am.
