Fool's Lake - Paperback

If a man was a good man, would he also be a good ghost?

Author and documentarian Cynthia Moe spins a story of mystery and passion in this rich tale rooted in historical fact. Using the flooding of the Milford Mine in Crosby, Minnesota as the deaths of over 40 miners as its context, Fool's Lake weaves a story about the emotional, generational, and sometimes otherworldly effects of profound tragedy on a small Minnesota mining town.

So, if a man was a good man, would he also be a good ghost? That's the question 9-year-old Lowie Harris can't seem to shake. Her great grandfather died as the hero at the bottom of the Milford Mine; her uncle-a boy at the time-- disappeared into that same mine thirty years later. Now Lowie's grandfather Mike has ignited a chain of events that could expose the town's closely held secrets, secrets the mine itself does not want to give up.
