Wolf was investigating a Wagon Train massacre when a young woman came up from behind him and nearly cut him into with an ax. Near-death herself Wolf rushed to take her to his village to be tended to. Realizing she was the only one that survived the massacre, she wanted to get her to the fort and find out if she knew anything. Molly O'Brien was Sergeant Pat O'Brien's niece that had come from Missouri to live with him after her folks died. Molly was grateful to Wolf for saving her and glad to be with her Uncle.
