Night is 15-year-old Kia's favorite time. It's when she freeruns to outdistance the memories of abuse she suffered as a young child. Her best friend Thorn often joins her as he has issues of his own to deal with. As they begin a new school year, things look pretty mundande. But it doesn't stay that way for long. When former reality television star Terrence Jones arrives at their school as the new head track coach, things begin to change in unpredictable ways. Kia tries out for the track team to fit in and seems to have found a way to excel. But just as she's gaining a new sense of normal, her abuser steps back into her life. Not only that, but trouble between team members and coaches cause even more turmoil.
