From the earliest of times, the Gypsy Traveller community were renowned for their storytelling. It was how they recorded their histories, shared in tales around their campfire yogs. Their storytellers passed on these tales in myths, fables, legends, and family histories to future generations.

In this comprehensive and fascinating book, Ray Wills, affectionately known as the Gypsy Poet, brings together these enduring tales, gathered from dusty libraries as well as from the Gypsies themselves, and his own memories of living amongst them. Within these pages you'll find history, tragedies, successful enterprises, humour, and valour. Discover compelling stories of Gypsy journeys, along with the victimisation and prejudice they endured over the centuries, as well as the successful enterprises they attained and managed in brickyards, potteries, quarries, and fairgrounds. All of these tales are enriched by poetry and prose throughout, making this an enduring and insightful journey into the lives of the Gypsy Traveller community.
