Building a bookish retreat with the man who turned you down in college isn't Mazey's idea of a good time. Especially when that man is her older brother's best friend. But the small town of Honeyville isn't flush with available contractors, and Mazey's recent firing means she can't afford to wait.

Unfortunately, Mazey's life never goes according to plan. Unbeknownst to her, Johnathan's business has been struggling. He convinces her that filming their reno with a live vlog is the perfect solution to bolster his company.

What isn't perfect is working in close quarters with the infuriatingly thoughtful man.

Johnathan's picture is probably in the dictionary under Looks Too Darn Good with a Beard. She's still frustratingly attracted to him, and the fact that he acts like a dreamy book boyfriend, forecasting her needs, isn't helping. Even worse, their charged banter has vlog viewers predicting they'll be hammering "more than nails" before long.

Trouble is, Mazey isn't good at juggling commitments. Too many balls in the air-or in her bed-and things drop, but the house they're renovating is acting oddly, leaving strange books for her to read, like a breadcrumb trail leading straight to Johnathan.

If she gets involved with him and her business fails, her happily ever after will be more of an unhappily ever broke.
