I Am History - Paperback

by J. D. Hearn (Author)

In a New York City emptied of humans, Henry Gorestriker, a middle-aged bank clerk, stands alone. By night, the streets are overrun by creatures that are neither fully human nor fully beast-and the city's lights now shine only for him. As the sole survivor, Henry scavenges for food and clings to fragments of memory that slip through his fingers. When darkness falls, he performs stand-up comedy on a tiny stage, where laughter and light keep the creatures at bay.

I Am History is a darkly humorous exploration of survival, memory, and human absurdity. As Henry's failing mind forces him to rely on scribbled notes, he must confront the fragile line between reality and imagination. Blending horror, suspense, and comedy, the story follows his unlikely journey through a dead city still very much alive with menace.

Witty, poignant, and unsettling, Henry's adventures are interspersed with reflections on life, love, and the strange joy found in the most hopeless of circumstances. Fans of post-apocalyptic fiction with a comic twist, suspenseful storytelling, and literary flair will find in I Am History a unique and unforgettable experience.
