In Transit is a collection of poetry gathered from travel journals. Moving through changing landscapes, cultures, relationships, and versions of home. These poems explore what it means to live nomadically and what it means to remain present in a world that is increasingly difficult to look away from. This is a book about movement, but also about witnessing. About the beauty of the natural world alongside its destruction; about cultural identity and the complicated feelings around belonging.

Across fourteen years, these poems move through landscapes. And at the heart of In Transit is a quieter transition: the realization that growing up is not only a process of becoming, but also of letting go. Youth carries the illusion of endless possibility; adulthood asks us to reckon with loss, grief, impermanence, and the parts of ourselves we can no longer carry forward. To grow older is to encounter, perhaps for the first time, the reality of death, not only as an ending, but as something woven into life itself. These poems hold the uncertainty of that threshold: the world as it is and the world we once imagined it could be.

Canadian-born writer, Alexandra, now calls Vancouver Island home, where rugged coastlines, rain-soaked forests, and wild cedar trees continue to inspire her work. In Transit is a record of life in motion.
