Jake 1946 - Hardcover

by Re Sobol (Author)

Jake 1946 by RE Sobol is a World War II espionage novel set at the moment when victory gives way to a new and uncertain global conflict.

Jake Slone, a streetwise young New Yorker fluent in German, is pulled from basic training to guard German POWs in the American Midwest, where he listens, observes, and learns. After the war in Europe ends, he is transferred to the Counterintelligence Corps and sent to a shattered Germany with a dangerous mission: track down high-ranking Nazis hiding among civilians or attempting to flee.

As Jake navigates black markets, false identities, and buried war crimes, a new threat emerges. With Soviet influence rising and the Cold War taking shape, he is recruited into the newly formed CIA, where Nazi fugitives are replaced by Russian spies.

Blending historical details with espionage suspense, Jake 1946 is a gripping story of loyalty, temptation, and the thin line between peace and the next war.
