Book Overview

Trek into the wild heart of the rain forest.

Discover a world teeming with life. Dense and humid and filled with secrets, rain forests are home to more than half the world's plants and animals. Using Photicular technology--an innovative lenticular-based technology that uses precision sliding lenses and four-color video imagery--each image is like a 3D movie on the page, delivering a rich, fluid, immersive visual experience. Jungle parts the mysterious veil of this sun-dappled land, revealing in color and motion the living exuberance within.

Watch a tarantula scuttle across the forest floor. A dancing whipsnake flick its tongue. A Bengal tiger on the prowl, and a brilliant red-and-green macaw soar above the canopy.

Experience it for yourself.

About Dan Kainen
Dan Kainen is an artist, designer, and inventor living in New York City. He is the creator of the bestselling Photicular books, including Safari, Ocean, Polar, Jungle, and Wild. While working with some of the pioneers of holography, Dan created a special spotlight that was used by Soho's Museum of Holography to light holograms. The related field of holography led to Dan's interest in lenticular art and, in turn, after nearly a decade of research and experimentation, to the creation of his "Motion Viewer," his third patent in that field and the inspiration for Safari and the other Photicular books.
