Less Than a Hero - Paperback

A draft notice on July 4, 1966, changed everything. Just 19 years old and fresh out of high school, I had never even heard of Vietnam. But within weeks, I was navigating its jungles, not only fighting but also fixing weapons in the heat of combat.

Less Than a Hero is a firsthand account of a young man thrust into an undeclared war. Without advanced combat training, I was thrown into a world of constant danger and sleep deprivation, where survival demanded vigilance, courage, and-perhaps-a guardian angel.

With firsthand perspective and unwavering honesty, this memoir unveils the untold story of Vietnam's impact on those who served. Returning home, many veterans faced new battles: PTSD, the effects of Agent Orange, and the struggle to find normalcy. Today, I dedicate my time to helping other veterans find the support they deserve, donating a portion of this book's profits to assist homeless veterans.

In this book, you will:

• Experience the Vietnam War through the eyes of a young draftee.
• Gain insight into how the U.S. government handled the Vietnam "conflict."
• Understand the struggles veterans faced upon returning home.
• Explore the impact of PTSD and how soldiers learned to cope.
• Find hope in a future free from conflicts like Vietnam.

Less Than a Hero does more than recount history-it honors the resilience of soldiers and the importance of supporting our veterans.
