Locktober Volume One - Paperback

by Maren Ashe (Author)

Elliot has built a life so controlled he has forgotten what it feels like to want something he cannot have. Every hour accounted for. Every decision already made.

Then his wife, Nora, makes him a bet. Thirty-one days. One small metal cage. One key. Her key.

He expects to endure it. Instead, the cage begins to strip away every wall he spent years building. He stops performing and starts arriving. She stops asking and starts holding. The marriage does not change. The marriage reveals itself.

Day by day, he becomes more present, more open, more honest than he has been in years. She discovers a version of herself she didn't know existed. A woman who holds power not with force but with patience, with attention, with two quiet words spoken in the dark: Not yet.

This book is for the man who has carried this desire in silence. Who has scrolled forums at 2 a.m. wondering if something was wrong with him. Who has never seen his wanting treated with dignity in fiction.

Nothing is wrong with you. You are not broken. You are not strange.

This is your book.
