Moses - Paperback

by Lester Picker (Author)

Moses. The name conjures every possible emotion. From the pious to disbelievers, among Jews, Christians and Muslims, the figure of Moses is embedded deep in our psyches. Who was this iconic man? Was he the wizened, angry man as the Old Testament portrays him? Did he truly lead a great exodus of 600,000 people from bondage to become the three great Abrahamic religions?

In 'Moses', the author uses the latest archaeological evidence and theories to create an exciting retelling of the saga of Moses that is contrary to the biblical story. Moses actually began as the heretic Pharaoh Akhenaten. Together with his wife, Queen Nefertiti, they tried to force the concept of One God on a reluctant Egypt. Akhenaten was exiled, but returned to lead a small group of One God believers on a journey to Canaan. They were the precursors to what became the Jewish people. This controversial and beautifully written work will immerse readers in an epic period of human history.
