Perseverant Piper - Hardcover

When a young girl's school day is ruined by the spinning numbers on her math quiz, she feels like giving up. Although her teacher encourages her to persevere, it isn't until she embarks on a backpacking adventure with her mom that she truly understands the work required to overcome a challenge. Join Piper as she trades her unlucky pencil for her beloved, muddy hiking boots and heads out for an Olympic National Park coastal exploration. Tucked amidst Washington's towering Evergreen trees, Piper has to muster the strength to ignore the convincing voice of self-doubt and dig her boots in a little deeper.

The book includes a Nature Glossary of Pacific Northwest species readers meet along the trail and a 10 Essentials Hiking Checklist to help inspire safety and confidence in the outdoors. With a Washington state map showing her hiking location, children can follow along the adventure and learn more about the native tribe to whom the land originally belonged.

Written in rhyme, a heartwarming read aloud for nature lovers and classrooms alike, reminding children that challenges-whether on the trail or in school-can lead to growth and strength.
