Author Biography

Moritz Lampe studied art history at Leipzig University and Sapienza University of Rome. He was a doctoral fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence (Max-Planck-Institut), the Warburg Institute in London, and the Università degli Studi di Firenze, where he completed his PhD with a thesis on Renaissance art theory in 2015. 2016-2020, he worked as a researcher and archivist in the photo library of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence. Following this, he conducted a postdoctoral research project on photography and religion in Italy, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Since 2023, he has been the liaison librarian for Art, Photography, and Design at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
