Rangers On Lookout - Paperback

by Daniel Ross (Author)

On a hot, windy day at Thingammyjig Nature Reserve, the conditions are perfect for a bushfire. Up in his lookout tower, Ranger Roger is keeping watch, eager to finish his shift and enjoy Mrs. Appleby's famous homemade apple pie and ice cream.

But his plans change when he spots a thin plume of smoke near the barbecue area. Radioing base, Roger teams up with Boss McClane, the reserve's skilled helicopter pilot.

Together, they race toward the danger in their helicopter, "Whirrly," with a giant water bag at the ready.

Down below, a careless visitor named Mr. Scrappy ignores the total fire ban and demands a faster cook on his sausages creating thick, black smoke and sparking a potential disaster. Thanks to Roger's quick eyes and the team's perfect drill, they swoop in with a dramatic WHOOSH! SPLASH! putting out the fire and soaking the rule-breakers.

Ranger Roger and the Fire Danger is a fun, action-packed picture book that teaches young readers about bushfire safety, following rules, and teamwork with a delicious, smoke-free ending. Perfect for ages 3-7.
