Rebuilding A Jewel: Successful Strategies for Revitalizing Historic Places - Paperback

Globally, cities are changing and economies are fluctuating. Along with these changes we are experiencing attitudinal shifts regarding community planning initiatives. A recent survey revealed that over 80 percent of individuals feel their community is getting worse or showing no progress, with many residents expressing no hope for change. In Rebuilding A Jewel, the reader is immersed in revitalization and dynamic programs in locations around the world, such as Israel, England and Louisiana (USA). Historic preservation planning in these programs is examined, and tools are presented that focus on decreasing and sometimes eliminating challenges that frequently occur among various participating stakeholders. Rebuilding A Jewel provides preservationists and others working in the field with a template for renewing perspectives and achieving planning goals.
