Rooke: A DCI Rooke Thriller - Paperback

by T. G. Hofman (Author)

A gangland execution.

A missing witness.

A case someone wants buried.

Detective Chief Inspector Alanna Rooke has built her reputation on instincts and stubborn refusal to walk away from a case. When notorious crime figure Nicky Baxter is found tortured and executed in a derelict warehouse on the banks of the Tyne, Rooke is assigned to lead the investigation.

At first, it looks like a straightforward gangland killing. Then a key witness disappears.

As Rooke and her team dig into the Baxter empire, doors start closing. Evidence vanishes. Pressure comes from places it shouldn't.

Someone is watching the investigation.

The deeper Rooke digs, the more dangerous the case becomes. Because in the North East, some people are simply not meant to be touched. And someone is prepared to kill to make sure they stay that way.

ROOKE is the first novel in a gripping British crime thriller series set across Newcastle, Gateshead and the wild Northumberland coast.

Perfect for readers of LJ Ross, Anne Cleeves, Ian Rankin and JD Kirk.
