Scattered Thoughts, Memoirs, and Dreams of a Stiletto Queen - Paperback

by Sybil Thebaud-Brierre (Author)

Scattered Thoughts: Memoirs and Dreams of a Stiletto Queen is a raw and deeply personal account of growth, self-awareness, and resilience. Born into privilege as the sheltered, spoiled daughter of a Haitian physician, the author navigates the complexities of identity, family, and self-discovery. From being the only Black student at an elite, predominantly white school and struggling to fit in, to getting swept up in the 90s Black Power movement-ultimately leading her to join a fanatic cult-her story reflects the search for belonging and purpose.

At 21, she became an unwed mother, facing the harsh realities of single parenthood and strained relationships. Despite earning both a bachelor's and a master's degree, the American dream remained elusive, unraveling through career setbacks, financial struggles, and the crushing loss of both parents in quick succession. One of her hardest battles came in dealing with her daughter's narcissism, drug addiction, and prostitution, all while helping to care for her grandson.

Through heartbreak and loss, the author's story is one of strength and redemption. Despite life's harshest trials, she ultimately discovers her true purpose, reclaiming her voice and power. Scattered Thoughts is not just a memoir-it's a testament to survival, healing, and the unwavering determination to rise above adversity.
