Amid the complexities and busyness of our modern world, serenity is often difficult to find. Author John Highlen has been roaming the American wilderness for much of his life. Sometimes with serenity as the primary focus. Other times, there were different goals, with serenity being a valuable fringe benefit. Growing up in Michigan and being a lover of the north woods, many of John's outdoor adventures have taken place within the wilds of the Lake Superior region. This book is a collection of those wilderness adventure stories covering Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Isle Royale National Park, and Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
