Book Overview

Tulle is a very versatile medium that can be used to add depth and dimension to fabric art. I have used Tulle in different applications in every fabric piece that I have created. It can be used in water, snow, figures or for shading objects. Recently I have developed a technique where minimal fabric color is used in creating a piece. I then incorporate a gradation of several layers of Tulle to bring the image to life. Working with Tulle over the years and trying several different methods, I have developed a system that I find simplifies the process. In this book I will explain the process step by step, giving depth and dimension to simple objects such as a cube and a cylinder. I will then put these objects into application showing how easily they can be transformed into a single building, a cityscape and a lighthouse. You will be shown each application with and without the Tulle. This will allow you to see the benefit of using Tulle to add depth and dimension to your fabric art.

About Nancy Morgan

Art, graphic design and sewing, have always been Nancy Morgan's passions. She has been sewing since she was a child, but because she has also been a dancer, most of her early sewing experience was with costumes. Nancy attended Adelphi University and majored in dance, and while there studied costume design. Having had no other formal training as an artist she has always had an interest in art and graphic design. Several years ago Nancy was introduced to the technique of free style quilting and discovered a way of combining her sewing experience and artistic desires. Incorporating the basic technique learned originally, she has since developed a style of her own. Nancy Morgan's work appears in many private collections throughout the United States and has won several awards in both the Fabric and Art worlds.
