Book Overview

by J. M. Hughson (Author)

Dorothy Hall is Darrington, Maryland's Darkest Secret
That is until Emarie Lukins, a writer for the Washington Intelligencer, is assigned to write a story about a sixty-five-year-old woman who killed her twenty-five-year-old lover.
As Emarie digs into Dorothy's warped reality, she discovers a tangled web of abuse, deceit, manipulation, and murder. But when she discovers Dorothy's true identity, her boss, Jim, desperately tries to keep the information under wraps.
Disagreements between Emarie and Jim result in the story's cancellation, personal revelations, Emarie's resignation, a hefty bribe, and the attempted murder of a former coworker.
In revenge, Emarie writes a book that reveals Dorothy's true identity and exposes Darrington, Maryland's cover-up of her despicable deeds. But when Emarie gives Dorothy a copy of her book, Dorothy goes into a rage, resulting in the loss of two more lives.
Will Emarie outsmart Dorothy? Or will she become another of Darrington's dark secrets?
