When investigative journalist Taeng Skeete uncovers a Chinese plot to overthrow the government of Barbados, she paints a target on her back. When the boat she is on explodes at sea she is presumed dead, but she survives and washes up on a private island belonging to Cody Morgan, a reclusive engineering savant with a colorful past.
