Snow-Blind - Paperback

by Albert M. Treynor (Author)

From a Boston radio tower to the subarctic, a single message sends a city man north to a remote post of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The call speaks of a perilous patrol into the Barren Lands, a vanished party, and a cache of stolen furs that has drawn ruthless men to the ice.

At a river town at the end of the rails, he meets a seasoned sergeant and learns the rules of winter travel-dog teams, thin ice, and the feverish blindness that hides danger in the glare. Together, they follow a trail of gun smoke, false guides, and broken compasses across frozen lakes and wind-scoured barrens. Each mile brings colder weather, less food, and more suspects.

When a storm turns day to white night, the hunt becomes a test of patience and nerve-because a single wrong turn can bury the truth until spring. In this lean northern thriller, law and loyalty collide at forty below, and only endurance will carry justice home...
