Summer's Lease: A Classic Western Adventure - Paperback

by John D. Nesbitt (Author)

Lawrence Orme thought Wyoming would give him what the East never could...

He sought a quiet place to rebuild a life that had come apart at the seams. Then he found the body on his doorstep before he'd even unpacked his boots, and quiet became the one thing this corner of the frontier refused to offer.

Someone left that corpse there on purpose-a warning to stay out of questions better left unasked. When a neighbor, a decent man running for local office who'd been quietly poking at the same questions, turns up garroted in front of the whole town, Lawrence understands: there are old crimes buried in this corner of Wyoming, and the man who buried them has no intention of letting a soft-spoken newcomer dig them up.

Lawrence Orme only wanted an honest life in a new country. But some men in the West have already decided what honesty costs, and they've set the price in blood.
