Book Overview

A snowy mountain rescue, wild horse rustling, grizzly bear mischief, a liquor store robbery in a small town, the lighter side of mountain living, and lost cattle.

Tales of the Modern West is a collection of ten stories set in the Rocky Mountain West. They feature memorable people who populate the western states today and in the recent past. Read how Sergeant Hardy Harris, US Marine Corps, now retired, and his faithful canine companion, Old Blue, a personable Basset hound, save a bus full of Cub Scouts one winter. The pair returns to help round up rustlers stealing wild Mustangs from windswept mountains in rugged Wyoming.

The other stories recount events and strong characters overcoming challenging situations. Take a moment and savor these heartwarming experiences for their color and humanity in the sweeping landscape and culture of the modern West.
