The Bull Whisperer - Hardcover

With wry humor, raw candor, and gentle self-compassion, Seattle-based author Keith Fryer (pen name Christopher Westley) shares his "wild and woolly" bittersweet story growing up on a dairy farm in upstate New York. Navigating sweet coming of age adventures, sneaking out to church services, running away from home, then returning to attempt repair with his mother. And finally, leaving the farm for work and military service, followed by four marriages. As he recounts his tale, patterns slowly emerge in a dysfunctional relationship to money and to relationships that plagued him through a series of failed businesses and marriages. One chapter at a time, the discoveries help him transform the broken pieces of his life into a cohesive narrative, helping him understand his choices for the first time as ghosts from his past, with a damaged mother who made him believe he deserved nothing. This fresh awareness liberates him from 80 years of confusion and regrets, providing newfound perspective and a new zest for life.
