The Case of the Missing Cheese - Paperback

Skyler is a bright and imaginative third grader at Mount Brighton Elementary, a dual-language school where the kids learn in English and Spanish. Ever since she turned nine, however, things have started to feel more frightening. And nothing is scarier than the mean old man in the dark house on the corner. Anxiety, her mom calls it.

When Skyler, Juan, and Izzy decide to play a thrilling detective game, they never expect to discover a real-life mystery. As the kids embark on their quest to solve both cases, Skyler finds herself confronting her greatest challenge yet: her own fear.

Set in a richly diverse, multilingual community, this quirky and whimsical novel will immerse young readers in a world where bilingualism takes center stage and culture dances with belonging. As Skyler and her friends hunt for clues and follow leads, they also discover the true meaning of community.
