by Jjv the Storyteller (Author)
The DuBois Curse is a moving tale of a stripper's journey to raise her child and free her of the curse that plagued her family for three generations. Mystery's journey has taken her through life's turbulent changes, including a tumultuous relationship her daughter, Porchia. But her battles only made her stronger in preparing for war with The Curse. Mystery knew that she would lie, steal, and kill to win this war. From the words of Mystery, "We delivered my daughter, Porchia, at the house with the help of Aunt Hattie. My mom told me that we had to keep Porchia a secret. After Porchia was born, I only left the house to run errands for my mom. She reminded me every time I stepped out to not mention Porchia to anyone. I did not know anything about being a mother, nor did my mother. But the one thing I knew was that I wanted to try to be a good mother to my daughter. My mission was to make sure, at any cost, that my daughter did not grow up to be a ho."
