The Gold Stalkers - Paperback

by Col R. C. Hartjen (Author)

Gold is a promise-as well as a magnet for trouble.

Jim Horton thought he'd found his fortune high in the Colorado mountains, striking a rich vein just before winter came howling down to claim the peaks. Barely escaping with his life, he takes refuge in the rough-edged town of Ruxford, hoping to wait out the season and return to his claim come spring.

But Ruxford has its own fever.

A brazen bank robbery has left gold missing and tempers burning. A hard-bitten sheriff is hunting answers. Across the creek, the lawless sprawl of Hogtown thrives on vice, greed, and whispered threats. And somewhere in the chaos, Jim finds something far more dangerous than gold-a woman who captures his heart.

When the snow melts, so does any illusion of safety.

Word spreads. Shadows lengthen. And men willing to kill for gold begin stalking Horton's trail into the mountains. What follows is a deadly race where fortune favors the fastest trigger-and the last man standing.

Because in the hunt for gold, everyone's a predator.
