The Headless Horseman & Rip Van Winkle for Kids - Paperback

In the 1820s, Washington Irving wrote two of the most famous and best-loved tales in all of American storytelling. One told of the mild-mannered schoolteacher Ichabod Crane and his terrifying encounter with the ghost of a fallen soldier, the fearsome Headless Horseman.

The other recounts the adventure of lazy Rip Van Winkle, who hiked into the Catskill mountains and joined in a game of bowling with a band of little men who resembled Henry Hudson's Dutch sailors. He fell asleep. When he awoke, he was astounded to find that twenty years had past in a single night.

This is a new version of these classic stories, adapted by the renowned storyteller Luke Hayes. It brings to life the wonderful atmosphere and sparkling freshness of the Washington Irving originals. This telling is suitable for readers aged 8 to 12, but even adults will smile at the memories it evokes.
