The Ivory Fount - Hardcover

When Edmund Schofield accepts a mysterious invitation to visit the offices of an elderly attorney, he learns of the love of a young, dedicated physician for a dazzling, aspiring actress and of the tragic but beautiful secret that lies at the heart of an eminent Boston family.

Set in early twentieth-century New England, this is the luminous story of cultivated men and women whose lives are enriched by profound concern for the well-being of others.

Rich in verbal tonalities and resonant with humane wisdom, The Ivory Fount celebrates not only the noblest kinds of love but-even amidst tragedy-the generosity of life itself.
