A Taino man named Amanex is born on the island of Ayiti in the region of Jaragua. In 1492, the young Amanex witnesses the arrival of Christopher Columbus and the Spaniards and in horror, observes their violence and greed for gold. Amanex seeks to avenge the murder of his parents and brother at the hands of a brutal Spaniard and the safety of his wife and children as he joins a native and African revolt against the Spanish conquistadors.
