His book, Copper and Bronze in Art won the prize as the best scholarly art book published in the USA in 2002. His last book, Art: Authenticity, Restoration, Forger, published by the UCLA Press, gained many favorable reviews. He continues to research the subjects of art restoration, ancient metals and the philosophy of conservation.
