The Man at the Ruins - Paperback

He moved rapidly through the darkened shadows. That's how she knew someone was walking along the path below a wall that rose sharply behind the ruins. Had he remained stationary, he would have blended in with the surroundings. It was an unsettling feeling thinking she was safely alone only to see someone else. Had he seen her? She thought not. Hoped not.

Suddenly, Miss Treadwell felt vulnerable. There was a certain charm in being alone with the mystique of the ruins as darkness settled around her that would be lost had she brought anyone with her. Yet that mystique quickly evolved to concern even worry. She was alone in a deserted place with someone making his way along a path she hadn't noticed upon her arrival.
